Are you able to cash a cheque..

    for starters, is the cheque crossed? if so you must lodge it.

    if not then most banks still insist on it been lodged to your account, however it used to be possible to cash it at the branch where the cheque was issued.ie you could cash it at AIB dame street if the cheque came from AIB dame street, but i dont know for sure if this is still the case.

    Yes, you should be able to cash it in the branch where the account is located. You will need some photo id such as a passport or drivers license
