I wish to set up a main business, but within that business there will be what would best be described as subsidiary businesses that are related to the main one but differ enough that to market them effectively they need to be individually branded.

An example may be like the way Jupitermedia owned sxc.hu (until istock got its paws on it) - are two seperate businesses required to be registered and tax paid seperately or can they be piled in together?
