Has anyone signed up for this. I can say that it is a good route as it takes parts of our own local events and adds them together. ONB are a commercial entity so at 40 euro with 5 for the Heart Foundation and no T-shirt if you enter from now on you would expect something special.

If I get my bike up and running by the weekend I think I'll go for the 100km route, not ready for the 150km route yet! Could be a good build up for the Sean Kelly Tour and I'm not that far from West port.

According to the website you get a free T-shirt and a hot meal at the end! There is also discounted camping available for €10

    From Website:
Your Entry Fee Includes your T-Shirt, goody bag, refreshments during the event, use of changing and shower facilities, parking by Westport House and a hot meal in The Farmyard at the finish and various support services during the event and a €5 donation to the Irish Heart Foundation

My buddy and I will be taking a spin up from the Kingdom to do this. Not sure which route we will be doing yet though.

From the Website further down the page
NEW ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AT SIGN-ON. However, only online entrants before the 1st of August will receive an event t-shirt. Online entrants must also sign-on at the venue where all entrants will receive their goody bag and event t-shirt.

Ya. I'll be doing this cycle. Coming from Galway. The 50 eura sign-up is a bit steep alright with only 5 going to charity.
Is there an option of bring yer own grub and donate a fiver!

Wouldn't like to support anyone profiting from such events.

Sorry didn't scroll down far enough to notice that although I was really only highlighting the hot meal part. Couldn't be bothered about the T-shirt as all the ones over the years other the 'Lap the Lough' one have ended up as bike cloth's.

Also just noticed that its 45 and 50 for the longer routes. As you mentioned its a bit steap considering there is so little going to charity and for that reason I'm out.

There is some negative feedback on the entry fee of 50eura for the 150k

...are many of yea doing this ?:rolleyes:

    From Met eireann today

"indications are that the weather will improve during SUNDAY, with sunny spells developing in all areas, after a damp start. Winds will strong at first too, but should turn slacker later, with just a few showers expected in the second half of the day."
