    Hi all,

Awaiting the results of ACCA exams and will hopefully only have P2 to complete to qualify.

Does anyone have any recommendations on who to lecture with for P2 Liam Doran in Independent or Dave Aherne in BPP.

    Thanks
    L

I am doing ACA exams at the moment and have had both of these lecturers.
I would strongly suggest that you attend Liam's classes. David is a good lecturer but honestly Liam is streets ahead of him.

Liam Doran is brilliant at the standards and David Ahearn has a great approach to the group accounts. It depends on which area you are weakest/strongest in.

I have had the pleasure of both lecturers for P2 and although David Ahern is a gentleman Liam Doran is the best lecturer I have ever had and he's also a gent. If your a borderline student with a history of failing a few exams along the way then Liam will leave you in much better shape to get through P2. He's also a legend at P4.

And as a place to go to classes I found Independent streets ahead of the other schools, with the facilities and library etc it’s a much nicer place to head in the evenings.

Can you let me know your thoughts on them

    Thank you

P1 is the least challanging of all the ACCA papers in my humble opinion, I'm not saying it's easy, but it isn't that bad compared to some of the other horror shows such as either Audit paper, advanced tax or P2. I'd advise doing p1 with a more difficult paper such as P2.

Anyway, Shane O'Grady in Independent Colleges is the only man for P1 & P3. the way he makes you understand the subject and his exam technique leave you in great shape for the exam. I had Martin Corboy for P3 the 1st time I did it and he wasn't even in the same league as O'Grady. I couldn't recommend Shane O'Grady or Liam Doran highly enough.

Hi, for P2 I would go with Liam Doran, his manner of teaching the course content is excellent. Certainly no messing about. In agreement with the above - he is also a legend in P4 which is a stinker.

P1 & P3 - Shane O'Grady without any shadow of a doubt (indo also). These are non technical papers and his approach is right down to what you need to know and how you approach answering question to maximise marks. There has been a history of other tuition providers messing up big time in course delivery, I know that Shane went out of his way to help some inflicted students.

Independent colleges facilities are excellent, bang slap in city centre, closest to Pierce St station, pretty much any bus coming from Lesson St stops right outside door, class rooms are airy and....have windows...not to be sniffed at.

Best of luck to all on 17th! Delighted not to be awaiting a early morning email!!!
