    Hello !

I'm wondering if anyone can help me find some music. It wouldn't really be "classical" as in referring to the period but more based around the likes of The Gladiator soundtrack. Using the track "The Battle" as an example, It's hard to find anything of the likes when you don't know where to look or who to look for. Sorry if I'm being very vague, it's hard to explain exactly what I'm after !

This site gives a comprehensive listing of established classical pieces in films(i.e. not John Williams or any of the new guys) - if you subscribe, you can play them back.

    http://www.filmmusicsite.com
Deals with all soundtracks and scores, including classical pieces composed for films(i.e. John Williams and the new guys).

    http://www.soundtrack.net/movies/
Does the same as above and you can play tracks as well.

Now it all depends on what you want to find out, but those should help you on your way!

Well, Hans Zimmer, who composed the soundtrack for Gladiator, was sued by the Gustav Holst estate for ripping off his music. Try to find the Planets Suite. Mars is the track you're looking for.

You should also try anything else by Zimmer, starting with the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack. This should whet the whistle!

But remember....despite what youtube comments may say, it is neither a song nor a symphony! :D

Holy moley! some of the motifs are nearly identical!

This is quite filmy I think, not really battley tho.
    Pity about the audio quality.
