Backup Office Outlook 2007

    Hi all,

    This is probably a very simple exercise, but my Office 2007 got screwed up when I installed an earlier Office version of Frontpage. I get an installer setup window appear for at least five inutes before the application launches - same for word etc...

    I need to reinstall Office, but it's critical that I can save all my outlook settings for the reinstall - including all emails AND importantly a dual email profile that I have setup at present. Its really important I keep the settings too!

    Are there any apps out there that will safely carry my Outlook mails and settings to a fresh install?

    Disregard - It reinstalled ok with the backups but the insatller error is still there.

    ...oh well!

    To back up outlook emails do a search for *.pst and save them elsewhere, then use the import email button in outlook to get them back, what is the title on the installer which pops up for 5 minutes? If its frontpages one, download the Windows installer Cleanup utility and remove the installer associated to the error, this should fix this issiue

    The installer reads "Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007" on top bar
    "Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Offiec Enterspise 2007"
    with progress bar.

    If I cancel it, it appears again and the relevant app starts...

    Should I uninstall again, run the clean up app and reinstall?

    The cleanup app specifically says not compatable with office 07 :( I'd try uninstalling office 07, using cleanup app to rid all traces of it (should work once app is uninstalled), and reinstall from scratch
