Can you let me know what the limitations are for this competition? Does the rifle have to be a certain age or calibre?

Well, largely they're old bolt-action service rifles: Swiss K31s, German K98s, Lee Enfields of all sorts, Swedish Mausers and so forth. What had you in mind?

Good day, small turnout by usuals standards. Some excellent shooting from what I saw of the targets.

My first comp with my Enfield. Didn't do too bad. Need to tweak zero a small bit but overall very happy with it :)

A very special thanks to Jim and Mary Griffin, Cris, Tony, Brian and all the crew in the Mid-Lands. To the Ladies that put on the Barbecue, it was very tasty. Great to see the Americans there for the F Class competition.

Thanks to Bunny Shooter, Irlconor, It Wasnt Me and all others that took part in the Competition, it wouldn't happen if we didn't have people like you.

Bunny Shooter I like the new Lee Enfield you done very well, good scoring.

    Thanks again to all.

Result will be on the vcrai.com website later.

    Excellent shooting Bunny shooter.
    Very good grouping from a 1941 No4 Mk1 Enfield.
    A great day was had,
nice collection of rifles, Enfields, Mosin Nagants, Schmidt Rublins and a Pedersoli Rolling Block rifle.
    Well done to the winners.

As I said my first comp with the Enfield. I was happy with my performance, that hasn't hapened in a long time :(. There is room for improvement and as I get to know it better I hope to be collecting a prize :D

The Enfield needed a serious cleaning and as IWM noticed it kicked less than others he and I have fired previously  IRLConnor didn't notice any difference :P

As Mick said above, thanks to all who organised this and the other shoots, especially Mick himself ;). Without him I reckon the whole thing would fall apart :)

Hopefully the new legislation won't stop the lads who don't own a classic rifle from taking part :(

Thanks to John, from Fingal Sports, who supplied mine and my brothers rifles.

My brother would have been there but his wife is in hospital awaiting the imminent delivery of their first child. He couldn't risk being on the range and not making it to the hospital in time if baby decided it was time to put in an appearance :)

Congrats to the winners........IWM there again ;)

To anyone looking for a fullbore rifle shooting discipline I highly recommend classic shooting for value for money, comradarie and sheer fun

I will see you all on the range in the future :)

TMC121, you have me at a disadvantage :)

The difference was astonishing! It made what I would usually consider a rough enough calibre very easy to shoot.

Agreed, major congratulations are due to the hard workers who make these shoots possible. They're fantastic fun.

Bloody close run thing! All the medallists within a few points of one another. With what was a good and testing target, that's nice to see. As ever, the prizes are lovely, great feeling to get them. If I won half so many nice things shooting my main discipline I reckon I'd be better at it. :p

Absolutely agreed. As above, congratulations are due to those who do the hard work for these shoots. It's a very affordable way to shoot and gives great value for money.

    Totally agree
A great way to enjoy full bore rifle shooting at a very reasonable price and what a choice of rifles
Feeding them is not that expensive either!!
