Classic film, I think the message will always be pertinent as to bridging divisions between cultures through mutual efforts at comprehension. Cheesy as hell in places, though that adds to it in a way, in the respect that it lends a bit of human error and hence humanity to the proceedings. I'd like to see more films like this, not necessarily the same message but the same level of thought which is invested into it.

I saw it years ago, and clearly remember being bored to distraction. It's based on a novella by Barry Longyear, who is flabbergasted that anyone likes the movie. :o

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

It's one of those movies that's so bad that you love it.

It was watchable and wasn't totally up it's own hole, which helped.

    And Loui Gosset Jr. ftw.
