    have a bit of a problem with a Humax HD receiver. sometimes a message comes up on the screen saying something like "do you wish to switch off the system in 1 minute". It defaults to yes if you dont answer otherwise, and can be a bit annoying if youre recording something and the box switches off in the middle of a programme. Does anyone else get this or have a cure?

    You will need to turn off the auto standby function built into the box. It does this when the box is not used between certain hours of the day usually 3 hours I beleive..

    I think there is also an option somewhere that will enable the box to come out of standby to allow recording ...

    I think you can also change the standby time - something like 2 hours or 6 hours or off. The box won't actually switch off if it is recording/about to time record.
