Hotpoint WD440 drum sticky

    Hi
My hotpoint WD440 has a sticky drum. I can manually spin the drum but after a couple of turns, or less, it randomly sticks, I can push it past the stick and it continues freely. Im guessing that there is something stuck between the drum and the casing, or perhaps a bearing is gone. Im not sure though. Ive emptied the filter but no luck so far.

    Help?

I should also say that its not the motor. The drive belt has slipped off, probably due to the drum sticking.

Ive fixed it and it was fiendishly simple.

I removed the dryer unit on top of the drum. That allowed me to access behind the drum. After a couple of turns I saw the sock that was shredded and mangled. I took that out. Replaced the dryer and hey presto!
