    I have a 00 fiat punto and have a sony cd-x gt 620u.

The radio isnt in synch with the cars power and as a result it doesnt turn off when i turn off the car.

Iv read id have to rewire the stuff that connects to the radio to get that working.

Anyway when im driving the car and listening to music, the radio seems very hot..iv only had the radio a week but im worried i could be damaging it

Did the old one work ok? High temperatures can damage electronics quickly, I'd suggest pulling it out and having a look at the connections (if you can), to see if anything's melted or shorted (unlikely I know). If it continues you might want to have a chat with an auto electrician.

If your listening to the unit with the volume up then it would be normal for it to get hot. Ventilation in behind a dash is never great.
