Semi-Auto Not Functioning

Does anyone know why the semi-auto doesn't work on my M4?
If I flick the selector to "SEMI" it will fire full auto.
Would I be right in saying that the cut-off lever isn't working, or is there something else?

What make is the M4? And is the selector switch very sloppy?

It's a Dboys M4 and nope its very solid and clicks nicely into place.

Hmmm had a similar problem with my D boys M4 but it was that the selector switch had loosened itself and would almost roll sometimes allowing it to fire full auto on semi and vise versa. Had to strip it to tighten the wee grubscrew that holds the switch on, Strangely yours isnt loose or sloppy...Hang on theres other here who might be able to help.

If it comes to it, and you need to strip the M4 to sort it out this will defo come in handy for you, always a good one to keep in your favorites.

I can strip it and take apart the gearbox no problem, I had a look and couldn't see anything out of place, which is why I'm so confusedd...

the most likely cause would be the cut off lever or the trigger block itself. the socket for the lever can sometimes get worn and this causes the lever to slip off it instead of disengaging it.
It would require a full strip to replace the parts.
    :)

As an electronics hardware technician I have to say that's the furthest thing from a disassembly I've ever seen.
But cool yeah lock and load lads. hahaha

Now here, don't be spoiling my thread...
The disassembly of an airsoft device is quite simple.
I have to ask, why do you have to troll on my thread?

    Thanks Richie!
So if it is that what parts should I need, just the lever? Or is there more to it?

Its hard to say really, would need to see inside it to know for certain. the cutoff lever in the dboys is usually quite strong so it might be more likely to be the trigger block. that would mean replacing the whole trigger contacts. you can get them on ehobby i think.

    Thanks Richie! *offers cookies*
