    Hi all,

Currently looking at a holiday this year in dubai (september). I know ramadan is on from august to 19th september but not sure if this would matter (or are we best off waiting until after 19th).

Does anyone know from experience where to get the best holiday deals for a beach resort holiday in dubai. Google from a few results but its >600pp which is a bit above the budget but hoping we can do better and still hold onto a nice hotel. Looking to go direct with emirates also (if at all possible)..

    Thanks

It's not the best holiday destination in the world anyway (it's a big sprawling building site with no charm), especially in the extreme summer heat. Finding food during the day can be a problem in Ramadan with only limited places open. So October/November would be far better.

Don't know where you are flying from, but Emirates don't fly to Ireland. If you are near Dublin, Etihad direct to Abu Dhabi is the easiest (free bus transfer to Dubai).

I've been looking at Etihad flights and havent noticed much in the way of sales.
But having flown with them I find them very nice airline to fly with & the connection from Abu-Dhabi to Dubai is easy.

I would agree with the previous poster. Dubai isnt what I would consider a "holiday" location.

We were there for 4 days in early March and every day topped 30celcius.
It gets in the high 40's in the summer.

You will pay a premium for being in a hotel on the beach.
Everything is expensive, and apart from spending money there isnt much to do. The place genuinely lacks soul

there is plenty to do in dubai from jeep safaris to excellent golf course amazing water park wild wadi, brilliant shopping and indoor skiing.
avoid in the summer as it is quiet because of extreme heat.

Depends on your finances. July/August for the best value by far but it is warm!
