Trades with Punches

I had a little bit of a brainstorm today about trademarks today. I recently have been painting white trademarks on my AEG's and pistols but I didn't paint any on my M1911 as I think they only look good with just engraved trademarks.

So I was thinking would it be possible to make trademarks with punches, letters punches, center punches etc. The material would more than likely have to be metal or would they work on plastic as well.

I suppose it would depend on the type of metal/plastic probably.

    Any suggestions?

    Maybe something like this http://toolman.com.au/images/letterpunch.jpg
They would probably only work on metal though.

I plan to buy some punches in town after the bank holiday. I was thinking it would probably crack if you try it on plastic.

you can heat and then apply to the plastic but you would not get a sharp image

They work well on aluminium, have never used them on other types of metal. Just be careful to make sure you don't bend the metal. What material is the 1911?

Cheers Puding, I don't think I'll do it on plastic anyway

I searched and it says metal alloy? It would probably work on that

Yeah, it should work. As I said before be careful not to bend the metal, keep something solid under the metal when your punching in the trades.
