sorry i mean musical form in martial arts
    definition:
A musical form is a sort of imaginary fight against one or more opponents in which the performer uses techniques
coming from Oriental Martial Arts to specifically chosen music.
The choice of music is personal.

when you say freestlye do you mean made up forms.?
most of the chinese martial arts and i think karate and tae kwon do practice set routines.
try youtube, i suppose ,to get a look at some forms.replicate what you see and ask someone to correct you or else join a club that practices forms and have the teacher correct you.

where abouts are you training? if the club you're in competes in musical katas, they'll probably have ideas on routines and music choice. TBH, I've never seen any of the regular posters here discussing freestyle/dance katas, so info might be scarce

As cletus has said don't think you'll find many people performing free style kata here.

Is it a requirement for grading?
And if not why train for them?

I suppose that this can be compared to the one-step sparring required for ITF TKD gradings. These are self-composed attacks and defences that you demonstrate to the examiners. You chose a selection that best demonstrates your skills and abilities - i.e. if you're a good kicker and flexible, then use lots of jumping/high kicks.

Search for demonstration videos from the Korean national squad - they've done some good routines to music in the past. It should give you some inspiration.
