    Halladay's on the mound tonight:

Yankees to score less than 3.5 runs @ 5/6

Also fancy Santana for the Mets at home against the Cards seeing as Pujols at least has been struggling (.226 since the break)

His last outing? "Johan Santana held the Rockies scoreless and struck out eight over seven innings of four-hit, one-walk ball Thursday"

NYM to lead through 5 innings @ 10/11

Double: €10 returns €35 though I'm sticking with the singles.

anyone fancy celtic to win in dynamo .... they're 5/2 on PP.

worth throwing money at - for the gamble anyway - if they win then happy days ...if they dont ...not too much lost.

Good luck. On Toronto 4/6 and the Rays 4/5 in a 2/1 double.

Which are you watching? I'm a Sox fan but I just love watching the Doc pitch. Rays 4/5 with Garza is a good shout though.

    I wouldn't say it's mad or brave. It's a 5/2 chance. Nothing more.

Glad I didn't put the double on. Halladay just gave up 2 runs in the 8th to make it 4 overall for the Yankees.

Mets however led 7-4 after 5 innings so had that right at least. Just!

Sox are leading but I'm turning over to the Pirates match.........can't say why! :p

I wouldnt mind it - but I had my heart set on celtic to win - until I was reminded they havent won away since 2003.

only problem now is that an away win will never be as good odds for them. 5/2 was a fantastic price.

I think you will see Celtic away being big. They eventually got past a Russian team who are a mere 6 points above another Russian team beaten by an Irish team in a Europa League qualifier last week.

When I saw Joba against Smoltz tonight I immediately thought Yankees over 5 innings.

But then I saw the Paddy Power price on a Red Sox win, 23/13! The 2 teams have met 8 times so far this year and Red Sox have won all 8. And sure the pitching match up does look a bit one-sided but with the addition of V-Mart to Boston's line-up last week (now batting .476 with one homer and six RBIs since joining the Bosox) to aid Bay's recent slump you gotta say that there's not much between the team in terms of batting talent.

As a supporter, my heart is obviously with the Sox, but that's not the way to look at it. Sporting-wise, Yankees are favourites based on form and starting pitchers, but that's not the way to look at it.

As a gambler, you have a top team, the Red Sox (even if you've never seen a baseball game I'm sure you know they're a top team) against another team who they've played 8 times this season and recorded 8 wins against. Yankees have won 6 of their last 10 games, Boston have won 5. There's 2.5 games between them in the division standings. And the bookie is offering 23/13.

As a gambler, this is value. And so this is my tip.

Boston Red Sox (Smoltz) At New York Yankees (Chamberlain)

    Match Betting
    Boston Red Sox(Smoltz) win @23/13

€10 returns just short of €28

Admittedly not looking too good now at all (12-4 to Yankees in the 7th), but I stand by my claim that there was value in it before the game. Baseball is probably the hardest sport to bet on that I've experience of.

I'm off to bed, can't stand losing to those guys...

Just a word on PP. Robbing bastids, if you place a football bet, make sure you have the price marked by staff member.

I'm always paranoid if putting a football bet on in a shop. Always make it clear what price i'm backing.
