Text costs on Skype

    The cost of sending a text on Skype according to Skype is .089 cents. However anytime I send a text it costs 11 cents. Anyone know why this charge is so different or how it can changed?

    One possibility: VAT @21.5% and rounding to the nearest cent would bring the cost to €0.11.

    Checking Skype's rates today, it's 10.2c/SMS (incl. VAT) to send a text to Ireland (assuming that's where you're sending the text to). If Skype roundup, that'll show up as 11c/SMS from your credit.

    Where do you check what rate it is?When i'm sending a text it says "this sms will cost .089 cent. Note that this is less than 1cent - so 21% of that will be no where near 11cent.

    If you click on the sms button and the new pop-up window appears,at the bottom it will say the cost of the sms is .089 cent. Just no sure where the final cost is

    That should read .089 euro = 8.9 cents plus VAT of 1.92 cents which is 10.8 cents or rounded up = 11 cents

    That is how I read it .....
