VTOS question

I received a VTOS application form from my local social welfare office. They said that I had to be accepted onto a VEC course before applying for VTOS. So I have applied for my VEC course & they want payment even though the VTOS book says that VEC courses are free on VTOS. How does this work? Do I need to pay & then be reimbursed? I don't have the money to pay upfront for the course, I applied thinking that VTOS would cover the cost but since my application hasn't gone through yet how does this work?

I was accepted on to a course in Crumlin College and have been told by the college I was approved for VTOS. I didnt get any application form from Social Welfare tho, the college said I have to make an appointment with the VTOS officer when I register for my course. Wonder should I get a form off the Social Welfare just in case tho???

In relation to your question, you pay for the stuff yourself and then get reimbursed in October/November (think thats when they said). You need to keep all the receipts.

Doesn't the school do everything? Hasn't the school given you a form to apply for the vtos? I've applied for 2 colleges in Cork and they said that, after having a place in the course chosen, you can apply for the vtos through the school.
