going on holiday with my boyfriend in late september , preferably somewhere in europe.
id like somewhere cheap, cheerful and with some sun if possible!!
have barcelona in mind, any advise on places to stay and go would be much appreciated.

if anyone has an idea of somewhere better either that would be great?
    thanks

Barcelona is great . I was there myself 2 years ago. Not that cheap though. Really a great city with lots to see, good night life, great restaurants and clubs, really friendly people and weather should be lovely in sept. Can't recommend accom though as when I went there I stayed with a group of friends and rented an apartment for the week. Would definately recommend going on a walking guided tour. Can buy tickets from the tourist office in Placa Catalunya(the main square in Barcelona centre). I went on the general tour which lasts for 3 hours and goes at a slow pace. Guide was excellent and went through basic history of Barcelona and achitecture as we passed it. I did the tour on my first day and it gave me a great sense of the city. There were also specialised tours looking at Gaudi's work and the Bari Gothic area.
I would really recommend Rome as an alternative to Barcelona. I love that city. Lived there for a while last summer as a tour guide. If want further info on Rome just let me know and can email you on some.
Wherever you go hope you have a great holiday with boyfriend :)
