If it's a Megane II the pump is in the tank and is accessed from under the rear seat, the filter is integrated with the pump and is not a service item i.e does not need to be changed.

If it's a Megane I the pump is in the same place but the filter is separate, its located on the underside of the car. It is unlikely to need changing.

Are you sure it's fuel pump/filter related? If the engine is not firing when trying to start then it's likley to be the flywheel sensor that needs cleaning or replacing or else it could be an immobiliser fault.

megane I i think ,thanks for the reply i found the filter and fuel is coming out of it so its not that.
it might be the coils as there is no spark coming from them they will cost me €100 at least id say.
ill try that fob trick too cheers

I have a Renault Megane Classic 2000, 1.4 and i'm having some issues with fuel pump as well, least i think that's whats wrong. When i'm driving, if i put my foot down to over take or while switching lanes on the motor way, she starts to go but almost immediately loses power to a point that it nearly stalls (like my foot is on the brake instead). I have to lift my foot really quickly off the accelerator and back down again to get it to go.
    Any suggestions/advice greatly appreciated.
