Cayo triple FD clamp compatibility

I have a Focus Cayo Triple.

I'm considering changing the chainset to a standard double*, something like SRAM Red or FSA K-Force Light, partly to optimise shifting and partly becaue my cranks are too shiny.

I was surprised to discover that the FD hanger is riveted into the seat tube (see pic, click for larger version). I though all front mechs were braze-on or band-on, this seems different.

What are my options? Will a standard front mech (say SRAM red) fit this hanger? Will the front shifting quality be less good if I keep the existing front mech?

I guess I could drill out the rivets, but this idea has disaster tatooed across it's knuckles, and will probably make changing back for resale difficult.

    Thoughts appreciated.

    * I don't really want another discussion on standard vs compact vs triple, thanks.

It looks like it's functionally identical to a braze-on, it's just rivetted. Is the current derailleur not something fairly standard?

Your photo shows derailer set to highest position to fit existing big ring so might be wise to check that new large ring will fit if you are going for higher gearing.
I wouldn't worry too much about drilling out the rivets if needed and putting on a clamp.
They are pop rivets and you just drill off their faces and the remainder falls into the seat tube.

    That's a braze on you've got there.
