I have memories of watching an American, probable made for TV, Sci-Fi film as a child in the 1980s. The film would date from about 1980 or 1981 and the plot involved people having their mind scanned through an electronic device and subsequently the operators of the mind reading device made evil replica androids of the people being scanned.

I can't seem to find anything on the web about it after fruitless Googling. BTW it's definitely NOT the following films:

    Blade Runner
    Scanners
    Brainstorm
    Looker

Does anyone here know wha the film title might be?

Sounds like the remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers to me. It had Donald Sutherland, Jeff Goldblum and Leonard Nimoy in it.

Er its certainly not Invasion of the Body Snatchers, which was an all "organic" SF thriller. No machinary in sight!

    Futureworld ??

The only other thing I can think of were the Fembots in The Bionic Man/Woman series.

    Futureworld ??

Yes, I think that's the one, after reading up reviews on IMDb. It's got a very lukewarm rating from web bsased reviewers , but I must have a look at the film myself. It's been about 25 years plus since I last saw it.

    Thanks Dazberry!;)

It also sounds a bit like the Stepford Wives.
