    Hi,
Can the guards seize a commercial jeep for having it's rear seats in place or does it have to be revenue and customs? The jeep is insured to have rear seats so there is no insurance problem...

Can't see any problem with the garda doing it, as it will (presumably) not have a proper tax disc displayed.

I think the VRT thing is the Finance Act 2001 and the Gardai are authorised under that act as well as Customs

Thanks for the info, would the owner or driver be held liable...? I persume the Vrt would be the owner, however would the tax be liable for the driver at the time? The tax however would be fully paid as commercial.
