I don't mean foreigner at all. I mean Irish person. But he's foreign to Munster you see. Absolute ****ing disgrace!!! They're doing nothing to help Irish rugby.

How is signing an out of contract Irish player not good for Irish rugby?

Annoyed. Sure last season (in the few appearances he made) he looked poor and had no confidence, but still i am annoyed, he had potential. However, if this turns out well for the Galway man and Munster, maybe it will help in adding another nail in Bradley's coffin.

Munster, you've just signed Connacht's very own Jeremy Staunton.

    He's a nice guy though!

Sure its only going to be temporary anyway. He might return a rejouvinated player.

Btw methinks bleg was taking the piss.

Good to see him get a contract without having to move far.

He showed huge potential 2-3 years ago but was always weak under the high ball and his boot isn't great. Last season between injury and Michael Bradley related issues, he played very little and even then his confidence was shot.

I don't think he's at all suited to playing FB any more given the way the game has gone. You might find him out on the wing or in the centre.

It'd be great to see him back playing regularly and rubbing Bradley's face in it.

He could be a good player in future but he does need to build his confidence back. Hopefully he can stay fit and play more matches this season.

Best of luck to the lad though.

Pity about O'Boyle. Was looking forward to seeing him get more game time this year. As unlikely as that was looking.

Jokes aside. More evidence of the lack of young talent at Munster. But if it's sustainable to keep buying from "abroad" and all people want is for them to win, at whatever cost, it doesn't matter.

Yawn more dross. How many Munster players are in the Leinster squad?

I agree with Robbo here with regard to Danny.I really hope he makes it at Munster.Sickened we've let him go and held on to Troy Nathan. He had his injury problems but he's very much a confidence player and Bradley seemed to do all he could to knock that out of him selecting the likes of Nathan,Mel Deane etc. ahead of him.He needed to get out of Connacht at all costs anyway as his career was in rapid reverse in the last 2 seasons, in particular last season. He has plenty of aspects of his game to work on but he can do a job for Munster and he will be learning with better quality players than with us.Either way I feel this is a good springboard for him to relaunch his career.

OK, point taken. Just thinking I would have been happy for Leinster to go for Staunton. He went to the Tigers this week.

I love how someone like Staunton whose always gotten a bad rep for not fulfilling his potential is now at the most successful in the NH. (Toulouse excepted maybe? :P).

I'd be amazed if he does enough to stay in the first team though.

Leicester have a knack of making great players out of ordinary ones though, however they do it.
