Couple asks eBayers to sponsor their wedding

    Would you donate?

    From Sky News site:

A recession-hit couple have turned to eBay in an attempt to save their dream wedding.
Emily Warr and fiance Stephen Shaw planned every detail of their £11,000 big day and put down money for deposits.

But disaster struck when Mr Shaw's construction job was cut to four days a week due to the economic slowdown.

The pair realised they could not afford the rest of the payments for their wedding, but faced losing even more cash if they cancelled it.

Hoping altruism is still alive among Britain's romantics, they decided to sell stakes in their nuptials online for £10.

"Buyers" get a thank you letter, a photo of the big day, a card on their first anniversary plus "that warm feeling inside knowing you are making two people very happy", their page explains.

Throw in a video of the wedding night and it's a deal...

If poeple just wanted that "warm feeling" they woudl drink a hot beverage.

Why would you want a photo and an anniversary cad of two stenagers?

No way in fudging hell would I donate anything to it!

They obvious couldn't afford it truely to begin with why should they be bailed out for their stupidity.

If they really loved each other they wouldn't care about all the bells and whistles.
They would have regrettably taken the hit and went down to a registry office when they got a few pounds together and got hitched.

I see they have received 4 'buyer feedbacks' today - all along the lines of ''Great idea / good luck / have a great day'' etc..

Nearly pissed myself laughing at the "Item condition" at the top of the page. :)

I should hope it's bloody well new.

theres more than 10 of them available. get them while you can!!

They could end up making a profit from this. Interesting how they don't show exactly how many donations of £10 they need to get to their goal. They could have listed that under 'quantity available' - instead, they set it at 'more than 10'.

Im pretty sure when the amount is you select as available is greater than 10, ebay changes it to "more than ten" even if its just 11

ah, OK. Still, they could have mentioned in the ad just how much money they need to raise.

    Would be better if read

    "Used

Bride: 3 previous owners, relatively low milage for age, comes with twin airbags. Can rattle a bit after a hard drive, but essentially clean under the bonnet.

Groom: Number of previous owners undisclosed as the records have become smudged. Requires to be topped up with fluids on a regular basis. Tends to become unbalanced if overfilled, but this will eventually sort itself out after a few hours."

Now that would have been worth a tenner.

    :)

    No Deal.

Cut back on the wedding expenditure, invite less guests, there's lots of stuff they could do. His work was sut to 4 days? he's lucky there's a job for him at all.

Clearly not, the cheeky bastards. Losing their deposits is the best thing that could happen to them, it will teach them not to spend money they don't have. The people who have dontated are not just your average moron, they are some new super breed of fcuking moron who should smash up their computers and never leave the house.
