With all these threads and posts from people inviting people to join clubs and come training I thought Id let you know that the Leinster Rugby Referees are constantly recruiting. On August 16th an annual seminar will take place in the Green Isle Hotel for new and existing members. If you are interested in taking up refereeing let me know and Ill point you in the right direction.

There are common misconceptions about refereeing out there. You can referee at whatever level you feel happiest with and if you have aspirations to be the next Alain Rolland or Alan Lewis you will be well looked after of if you want to referee at J4 level on a Saturday that can be catered for too. It is good fun and there is a great bunch of lads to help you out and give you advice. it keeps you in the game and keeps you fit (if you put a little effort in) and it can be quite rewarding.

With over 4,000 games to be refereed a year and only 130+ referees to do them there are plenty of games out there. There is also a great career path from starting out at the lower levels and working your way to senior and AIL games, schools cup games, Magners league officiating, and onwards if you are good enough.

The Leinster Rugby Referees have a website at www.arlb.net
