The usual, don't go out in the midday sun, maybe go out for a while in the morning then go shopping or whatever in the afternoon as every place will be air conditioned, maybe then go back out to the beach in the evening.

Oh and wear sunblock, you don't want to be the typical red lobster Paddy over there on your first day!

Humidity can be an issue as when we were there it was in the 90% humidity which is a pain going from one air conditioned building/car to another. You crave air con all the time.

Drink lots of liquids and do not over expose. Buy your sunscreen in your local Walmart, nice and cheap.

And neither did we. You could sit in the shade without moving for 5 minutes and sweat profusively which was the main problem for us.

Start taking Claritin a few days before you go, and after you arrive, helps against heat rash. When you get over there, start drinking plenty of water and Gatorade we find the red coloured one the nicest. This replaces the electrolytes lost due to dehydration. Put on plenty of factor 50 sunblock, lets face it there's no point in even trying to get a tan as us paddies do turn lobster red, and if you do manage to be one of the lucky 1 in 50,000 that do turn brown, no one is going to see your tan anyway as we are totally covered up when we come home. Enjoy, we are going over in twelve weeks time when the humidity and sun are not at there strongest.
