Is it possible for a guy to wax his beard? Might be a stupid question but it keeps coming up in conversation so I figured I'd ask those in the know

Sweet. I will give it a shot. The poor OH has horrible shaving disasters.

Good Christ, is the OP for real? Hope you're doing something in return for your boyfriend, like going through the agony of something comparable such as having your eyeballs eaten out by rats. Cop on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 686 ✭✭✭insert-gear

He asked me to find out is it possible. He wanted to know... not me. Its hardly as if I'm like "oh I dont like your stubble, wax it off". His stubble is damn hot too

    Have you ever tried it?

I know a girl that waxes her fellas face once every 2 weeks. She said he was in pain at first but it doesn't hurt so much now...and it's only twice a month.
    I'd never do it though.

She does it for him? I can't even do my own legs, dont think i'd even attempt to go near him with wax. Was hoping I could find a salon that would do it

he wouldn't if he used proper shaving equipment and not your crappy run of the mill gillette the best worst a man can get ****e.

I can already see the attractiveness of walking around with a head like the Polish flag.

Oh, and exactly what constitutes a 'shaving disaster'??

Missing your face? Accidentally shaving someone else?

Is this for real? I can honestly say if I suggested to my fella he wax his beard he'd die laughing at the idea (then die from the thought of the pain).

Absolutely crazy idea to be honest. As any man will tell you beard hair and follicles are very thick. Waxing would leave his face in a f*cked up heap, probably with a lot of blood.

Neither Brazilia or Urban Wax offer treatments to wax beards only nose hair, ear hair, neck, shoulders etc. So I'd say it's a bit of a no-no. I found a thread on SalonGeek.com and people advised against it too saying there was a lot of blood in one case.

It sounds horrific tbh, and that's coming from someone who enjoys waxing. (Although to be fair I don't have a beard.)

    DO NOT GO THERE.

Used to work there, it's an awful place.

Enjoys waxing? Doing it or receiving it? Either way that's just, well weird. :D

Oh sh.t.......sorry, no idea the place was like that as never there myself :o, my sis gets hair done there and has noticed men waiting to be seen , overheard waxing being discussed by one of them .

I recommend researching decent shaving equipment before going this route. Could work out worse...

As i said earlier , saw this guy getting it done but he seemed to be not very hairy and he screamed in pain ......several times . tv program i was`nt interested in so no info .On reflection i would advise no . What if you messed up the roots under the skin ?? Just get the guy to have a really close shave in a salon or sumfin. :)

[SNIP] But i fell in a helpful mood today so heres some help for your fella

Buy the new dermalogica shave products for men:

and then tell him to do this in the shower before shaving:

    1. face/neck scrub(i actualy dont use the dermalogica one - i use nivea one, just cause its cheaper)
2.Dermalogica Preshave guard - dont rinse off
    3. dermalogica shave oil or shave cream
    4. rinse off with cold water - colder the better(feels damn good) - pat dry
    5. Dermoligica post shave balm

vollah - good skin a coming

Now i had sensitive skin and curly hair and used to get ingrown hairs on the neck, after i tried this regime it was gone and it feels damn good too and i tried a lot of products before this,i know other people using it and yhey swear by it

Now these products aint cheap about €30 euro each but their is a trial pack with all these products in it which is about €50 - check it out.

Empirix, I have edited the first line of your post as it was uncalled for and not needed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 686 ✭✭✭insert-gear

Again, he asked me to find out... I didnt suggest it to him. Thanks for your help guys. I think he just wanted to only have to deal with it twice a month and thats why he was looking for info.

You should dump him, he's obviously not a real man.

Empirix, you can edit your post but I can see still see it. What you initially said was again uncalled for. Do it again and you will receive an infraction/ban.

    Trainwreck of a thread locked.
