    Hi there,
    Myself and a few others are going to Kerry for a week. Just looking for suggestions as to things to do and see that are within driving distance of Portmagee, where we will be staying.

    Trip to the Skelligs is a most. Went there on Owen Walsh's boat. Really good guy and guide. The Moorings in Portmagee has lovely seafood as does the Point in Renard. You can go over there as a foot passenger from Knightstown on the ferry.

    thanks jersey girl, can you pm that guys phone no?

    Also, is there in the wider environs that you'd recommend, we'll be there for a week and the Skelligs might take a day I would imagine.

    thanks:D

    You'll probably find some useful info/suggestions here ->> http://www.visitsouthwestkerry.ie/

    If you're lucky with the weather there's also a nice beach in Ballinskelligs for swimming.
    St Finian's bay is also a good spot for surfing if any of your group is into that.

    There's a dive school in Valentia if you want to be adventurous.
    There's also a good golf course in Waterville.

    The visitsouthwestkerry website has a google calendar of events of things happening locally.

    Derrynane House may well be worth a visit as well.

    also drop into the chocolate factory in ballinskelligs - they do lovely sweet things. Have a look at the ring forts outside Cahirciveen. If its nice take a bike and cycle around valentia - have a look at the slate quarry and have a coffee at the light house cafe and enjoy the view. This weekend there is a festial on in Cahirciveen so look out for the local entertainment.
