    Hi,

I'm looking for a bit of feedback for the new track. Currently we are in the mixing stage and are considering re-doing the vocal tracks. We purposely went for sort of a live feel, we just felt the drums had more energy without going to a click.

My setup is Protools LE 8 with digi 003. Just learning the ropes at the moment and have just scraped the top of the barrell of what is pro tools.

My drum mics are fairly limited,
    Bass drum- AKG D112
    Snare top- SM 57
    Snare below- SM 58
    Rack Tom-SM 58
    Floor Tom-SM 58
    Ride/Symbols- AKG C1000 S
    Overhead-AKG C3000 B

The song is in early stages of mixing so any feedback will be greatly appreciated and taken on board.

the link to the song is:

    www.breakingtunes.com/profile/900

    and the song is '1948'

Cheers for any feedback or input that you may have.

i'd beef up the bass pedal and tone down the snare a bit

are you going for a partial rip off of "fire" by hendricks ?

The track is good. I like it. Level's need work.
The biggest problem with this track is compression, gates and eq.
There is something going on in the upper bandswidths here that to my ear is piercingly loud. The track is digitally clipping? Leave head room in the mix ..... this can be brought up later at mastering plus either youself if you are mastering yourself or the mastering engineer will need space for eq boost .........
BTW: the Qtube stuff sounds good ..... Emma and Colm mix it?

    Ooooohhhh!:)

I would bring kick and snare level down a good bit, and yeah I think more low-end in the kick.
But music wise I think it's pretty cool...

i dont do the whole studio engineering thing, so i cant be too constructive here, but the drums dont sound right to me for some reason

the snare seems to be a bit boxy or something

ok maybe i was a bit cynical ,

i like the bass drum , but the drums are weird as fcuk as are the vocals

and the guitars and the guitar feed back are wayyy to cutting

the other tracks on your site are good and the recrodings are ok ,

i like franky lamps , nice feel

and backs against the wall , i like the energy

    this one is pretty bleak
