Bought it this morning and my number is now ported over.

Does 3G access take a while to activate? I have the 3g symbol on the screen but webpages aren't loading and I don't seem to be able to get online.

    Anything i can check?

Didn't take anytime for mines to activate but I do know that O2 are upgrading some data centres at the moment (i've been on Edge only for the past week) so that might just be the problem.

Call o2 and make sure you have the right user name for access to 3G

i had the same problem when i got mine, my cellular data info wasnt correct
go into settings, then general, then network, then cellular data network and make sure the following is entered

    Cellular Data
    APN open.internet
    username gprs
    password gprs

    think that should do it

if you ported over from a prepay (like me!) you might be still on the previous plan and your info hasnt been copied over proper, i too couldnt send txts, give o2 a buzz and they'll have you sorted in a few mins
