Changing bearings on a Zanussi Aquacycle 1200 F 1245 W

    Hi all.

My Zanussi packed up recently and the problem is the bearings. I'm wondering if anyone could advise me on how to get the old bearings out.

I've taken off the back cover. I've taken off the nut that holds on the pulley wheel and managed to remove the pulley wheel (with a bit of persuasion). There has been a bit of damage to the teeth on the back of the pulley wheel and a lot of the old bearings fell out.

Anyway, I'm wondering how do I remove the rest of the bearings. From looking at the replacement kits online, I presume that the bearings are contained in a casing ring and that I should remove this casing. How is this done? It doesn't seem to want to come out without a struggle. The bearing ring fits around a solid metal "spindle" that I'm assuming is part of the inner drum, and I've been tempted to tap that and see if it will loosen the bearing ring. Anyway, I'm sure there's a boffin out there that has done this before and might be able to help me finish the job off.

Also, do I need to take the inner/outer drum mechanism out of the machine completely to do this? Or do I need to take the back off the outer drum at all?

    Thanks in advance.
