A 27 year old Polish man has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of of 20 year old Kieran Cunningham in the city 8 weeks ago.
Alexsander Nadwodny of no fixed abode is charged with murdering the Claregalway man at Williamsgate Street contrary to common law on June 3rd.
Wearing a navy sweatshirt, blue jeans and black runners Alexander Nadwodny was led into court number 1 at Galway courthouse shortly before 10.30.
He sat quietly with his head down as a crowd of over 50 relatives and friends of Kieran Cunningham entered the courtroom.
A large crowd gathered outside the courthouse to witness Nadwodny being taken away into custody:
There was no application for bail and Nadwodny was remanded in custody to appear before an emergency sitting of Galway District Court next Tuesday August 4th.

Well, thank god for that - justice will finally be served for Kieran and his family/friends.

All they have is a person on charges. No verdict has been reached and as such the person in question has not been found guilty.

Justice will be served when a trial takes place and a final verdict is reached what ever that may be.
