For any of the Irish colleges ,you'll have to have an honour in honours Irish. If you go to England you will still have to pass an exam in Irish when you come home.

It is not a great time to get into primary teaching , hundreds of jobs were lost this year and there are plans to raise the pupil teacher ratio further, so there will be even more unemployment. One TEMPORARY job had 1,200 people apply for it.

Not the best time to be getting into Primary Teaching. It's going to be a very tough few years for graduates with Honours B.Ed Degrees., not to mention if you only have ordinary level Irish. I would think long and hard before embarking on this path as your employment prospects, given the numbers of highly qualified people in the field seeking work, would be limited.

Didn't want to dishearten you but it's important to be honest and realistic.

I'd think long and hard before setting out on this as it's a lot more difficult than you think and the job prospects are not what they were.

Hope I haven't put you off completely. If it's something you are really determined about and are prepared to put in alot of work, who knows?

Btw , best of luck for the next three years and keep up the Irish. How did you improve so much in a year?
