Advice please: buying 36-40 inch wallmounted TV

    Advice needed please!
Believe it or not, I have never bought a TV, and have been living without one for some time.

However, now I am planning to cave in in style and get a decent one.
At present, our house is caveman style as we have no TV, no internet, not even a landline phone.

I am thinking somewhere around 36-40 inch,
need it to be wall mounted so as thin as possible.
I know there is some relation bn the rec size and the viewing distance?
I love gadgets, so I'd like it have a USB connection, maybe wireless connection if we get around to getting broadband.

Very basic question that only someone without TV would ask:
if I buy it, what ariel would I need just to get RTE first of all?
Is there such a thing as Freeview digital in Ireland?

    Many thanks,
    Hippie2TVHead
