    I don't know what it is but for a good while now I really struggle to get out of bed the the mornings and just feel absolutely exhausted for the first hour or so. It's generally fine after that but every morning is a serious struggle to get out of bed, takes me ages and many many snoozes on the alarm clock.

    I'm perfectly healthy, eat well, get enough sleep 7-8 hours, and although I could probably get more exercise I do get some.

    Anyone got any suggestions as to how to get out of this bad habbit and feel more awake with more energy during the day?

    I don't know if this will be of any help, but I thought I'd post as there were no replies. I developed an intolerance to starch a few years ago which I was able to track down before it turned into a full-time alergy.

    It started off with morning energy problems similar to your own which disappeared during the day. I can't honestly tell you how long this lasted for, I put it down to smoking and being unfit eventhough no unfit smokers that I spoke to gave me the impression that they had anything like the energy problems that I had every morning. Plus I started going to college three nights a week which didn't help.

    I won't bore you with the details but I got very sick, constantly naseaus (spelling?) in the end, lost nearly two stone (which I couldn't afford to lose, always thin) and had to completely re-think the food I ate. Because it was an intolerance (that was getting slowly worse) rather than a more agressive alergic reaction, my GP had me cut my diet down to try to single out the problem. All I could eat eventually was white rice and plain chicken. White rice!!!

    Just at that stage, an aunt of mine read about starch intolerances/alergies and told me. It was just before Christmas and it was the best Christmas present I have ever/will ever receive. I stopped eating anything white, felt better after two days, ate nothing but veg and meat for two months, put back on the weight as quick as I'd lost it. I still stay away from the really processed rice/pasta/bread. If I ate it for a few days in a week at work (out of laziness) it'd take me a few days to get back to normal.

    This may have nothing to do with your energy problems but it was at the heart of mine. Good luck sorting it out. If it is some sort of intolerance building up I hope you can nip it in the bud quicker than I did.

    When you sleep, you have 5 different levels for a healthy night sleep.
    12345 to get a good nights sleep.

    Do you sleep with the window open or closed ?
    Are you drinking tea or coffee late at night?
    drinking a few bottles after work ?
    Are you eye blood shot in the morning?
    are you sleeping deep ?
    If your smoking weed that could have to do with it to.

    The thing about sleeping when on weed or caffeine its a stimulant, and people tend to go to the stages 3 and 4 which are the Deepist points of sleep.

    some things I've found that can help are
    Make sure your room is well aired, don't drink tea or coffee after 9, before going to bed drink a pint of water. Have a light duvay? your body temperature needs to drop in order to sleep.
