    Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations of somewhere not too far away for New Years? I was in Edinburgh last year (which was brill) but would like to try somewhere diff. I think the UK is the furthest I could afford! Anyone been in London for New Years?

its really good, i was there last year for new years, stupidly cold though, -18c for new years eve come 12am, if you go to berlin make sure to bring the clothes

there are numerous events in the city on the night, the biggest thing is the party at the brandenburg gate, this is where we went, bands start on the main stage at 8pm and its free, huge 10 minute firework display at 12am http://www.silvester-berlin.de/English/start.html

I've been in London for New Years but didn't think much of it. Went to trafalgar square which doesn't seem to attract a great crowd - didn't feel safe.
