    1. Rip van Winkle
    2. Paco Boy
    3. Lord Shanakill

RVW - Best horse in the race, 1l off STS, stays the mile, no going issues.
PB - Giving too much weight to RVW, Not best distance, Second best in the race
LS - Won G1 in France 2 weeks ago, to beat Ghanaati on ground, 1 3/4 lengths off Mastercraftsman penultimate start at ascot

In theory Paco Boy isn't giving any weight to the younger horses at all - I'm happy enough that the weight-for-age scale is correct and creates an effective level playing field, despite the odd freaky result.

Beacon Lodge for me as a lively ew shot at 25s 33s as I reckon there are enough doubts about the top 4 in the market.

I think the track may not see Rip in his best light, and Ghanaati has only ran against colts in a maiden, and never against older horses. For all that she was very impressive at ascot, her form at Newmarket isnt shaping up very well and it could just be that she is the best of an ordinary bunch.

Paco Boy has proven he stays, will like the ground and most importantly he has the turn of foot required around Goodwood.

He will do for me, but to be on the safe side possibly lay Rip, on the basis that ghanaati could be anything
