If I begin a course in a private college, is my JSB affected?

I'm planning on beginning a college course at a private college. The course lasts 18 weeks. Will the amount of JSB that I can claim every week be affected in any way?

Best to contact FAS and see what they say. If that doesn't work you'll have to head down to the SW Office.

How many hours a week Eskimo? Always remember you are supposed to be out there, looking for work, you cant look for work or accept work if you are in college 8 hours a day 5 days a week.

To get JSB, you have to be actively seeking and available for work, unless you qualify for a back to education scheme. Depending on the course, you might get a VEC grant or something.

you cant get a vec grant for a course less than 1 years duration, might be better keeping quite and keep signing

No do not do this - this would be SW Fraud. West101 infracted.

OP you should contact your local office. They will ask if this course will affect your ability to look for, be available for and work in a full time job.
