Hi has anyone here used the Jerome russell powder bleach from boots?

I have used it to bleach my hair to strip out the black dye. It did get rid of all the black but now i'm left with blonde on the top and the rest is red  i didn't use a toner yet.

Has anyone had a successful result with this?

    Nicky.

You'll have to re-bleach the red parts, they are red because the bleach was not left on long enough.

It's pretty much nigh-on impossible to bleach out black hair dye. The red bits now will only turn a dark orange on the next dye, then a lighter orange, then yellow. You can keep bleaching, but your hair will literally melt away, especially if you're using the 40% powder.
The Jerome Russell dye is brilliant, but you should have done some research before trying to bleach out black hair dye. The best thing for you to do is pick another dye to go over your hair now.

Thanks for the replies, i used a 20% bleach on the hair, i would probably need a 30% for the red.

I booked into a hair salon to see what they will do, if i have to go brown i will.

At the moment it looks like ginger spice :o

Got a colour cut and hair treatment for 40 euro. My hair is now chocolate brown.

That's the one I use, it's brilliant! I've used it to take out black, used the 40% one all over first then deep conditioned and left it a couple days and used the 20% on the orange bits. Brought it down to a yellow that would have gone blonde with toner but I didn't bother cause I was dying over it with red. My hair wasn't damaged at all really, just a little dryer than usual, but my hair stands up very well to bleaching and dying.
