Hi, i am thinking about buying a new car. There is one i was looking at, and the dealer is sticking to the price quoted, he said its the cheapest one around, which it is.

Is there still room to knock a few €€€€ off?

Buying a new car? Worried about saving as much as possible? Are you menthol? Buy a six month old one and save a fortune instead.

Dealers haven't been bringing cars in so they don't have excess stock - any unsold 08 stuff is long gone. Offer the dealer the amount you are prepared to pay, leave your phone number and tell him he has 24 hours. Then never contact him again or you will look like a twonk. If he calls and accepts your offer, buy the car and be happy.

have you compared prices with people selling similar cars have you contacted these people and asked about discounts?

If not, then you're essentially blind.
