Jailbreaking ipod touch from the start..

Ok I know it must get annoying with everyone asking similar questions but im uber confused...i just got a lovley touch 2.2.1 and now want to jailbreak it..how do i go about this from the start....all advice appreciated and i read the sticky but was mostly iphone stuff and I couldnt get my head around it..
