Hiya! There is a gang of us heading off to France camping on Saturday and we will miss the Kerry V Dublin game on Monday. Does anyone know of an Irish Bar near or in St Jean de Monts where they show GAA matches? We will be willing to travel but i feel Nantes is too far considering there will be drink involved. Maybe a nearby town or something. PLEASE HELP !! :)
    Thanks.

I don't know that part of France very well but it would surprise me to find an Irish pub (i.e. with RTE) out there outside of the big towns. There are some English bars for the ex-pats but very unlikely to be showing GAA.

Just back from a 2 week holiday in a campsite called Clarys Plage which had a large bar and showed 3 GAA matches live over the course of a weekend. Clarys Plage is between St Jean De Monts and St Hilaire. You have to pay per day to enter the campsite if you are not resident.

BTW Nantes only 40 min drive from St Jean de Monts.

I suppose they show the GAA there as lots of Irish in the campsite who book through Hellofrance.ie

Sorry for being off topic. disland, do you have any advice for me as we are about to book ten days in that area, going on 13th to 25th of August. I expected to see great bargains but maybe we want too much as we need a three bed mobile home.

Hi there. We stayed in a 3 bed caravan in Clarys Plage. Its a huge site with loads of 3 bedroom caravans. Some people who had holidays booked further south ended up coming to that campsite and looking for last minute deals as further south the mosquitos were too much. No mosquitos where we were.
