WiFi Broadcasting from Laptop

Hi,

I was told that I can broadcast my wifi signal from the laptop locally so I could connect using my iPhone or anyother Wifi capeable device.

I have one of those 3 mobile broadband thingys. So I connect to the internet on the laptop using this and want to broadcast the signal so I cn pick it up on another laptop or phone etc.

Does anyone know how to do this or what software I need. I've had a scout around but thought Boards would be my best and quickest bet.

Use Ad-Hoc mode on the WiFi Card.

The computer is an inspiron 1520 if you asking me about the wifi card I havent the foggiest!!

I'll have a look at that now in a min. I've figured out how to setup the ad-hoc network but it disconnects me from the internet when I do it which makes the idea of setting up the network pointless!!

Am I doing something wrong? Or should I say what am I doing wrong! :rolleyes:

You want to turn on Internet sharing, run the network wizard and it will be an option, sorry haven't run this stuff in ages, running on a cat5e network here with 4 APs providing WiFi coverage.

Ha slight difference to me, I just want to allow the other guys in my house to be able to piggy back on my internet for themselves!!

Do you use Windows XP, Vista or 7?
