I bought a set of dezent wheels around xmas last year and havent needed to take them off or anthing so i only noticed when servicing my car the other day the key was missing.

The nuts are round on the outside and shaped like a ten point star on the inside. Is there anywhere that I can get one of these or will i need to get them drilled out?

The nuts off my old wheels dont fit so would i be looking at much for new ones??

Use a slightly smaller socket and bate it onto it ..it'll need to be tight..
Ive done tis a few time with no hassle..

Try Dean at East Coast Alloys http://www.eastcoastalloys.com/

They sorted me out for a key a couple of months ago. Wasn't expensive - under a tenner.

I had to do that to my locking nuts also, done the job perfect.

this is how the low lives rob wheels with lock nuts.
its the easiest method without drilling them.

Is this possible with the outside part of the nut being completely smooth though?

Friend of a friend a few year ago lost the key for the lock nuts on his alloys, the wheel nuts were covered over by a disc in the centre of the wheel which you had to remove first with an allen key, he "removed" 3 of the lock nuts with a lump hammer and chisel them came to the last wheel, removed the disc and found the key still on the last lock nut

Yes it will still work,, when you beat the slightly smaller socket on, it has to be tight other wise it'll spin off when you try to turn it...

    best of luck..

Low life i am not!.. i use work in tyre shops and we used to have to do this on a daily basis...

Had a set of wheels robbed of me years ago, I'll never forget the feeling when i saw my car thrown on the ground:eek:

So called "friend" done it found out some time later,

Cheap way of getting rid of the SCUMBAG:pac:

Most decent tyre centres will have a wheel lock nut removal set that can remove any lock nut using a socket with a left hand thread inside that threads over the lock nut. Halfords even sell them individually for around 15 yoyo.

I don't think these are lock nuts lads. I had em on my last car, for wheels with really limited space round the studs.

The nuts are basically like this except with ten points in the middle instead of 6
