I gave my wife my MacBook when she went away for a week. The problem is that water spilled on keyboard. The MacBook was plugged in at the time. Apparently not much water spilled and laptop was dried fully. However its not working now :-( . Should she try to repair outside Ireland where she is or wait to wait come home. What sort of bill am I facing and what will need to be fixed?

    TIA

    Which Macbook is it?

How long was it left to dry for? I would have left it for several days at least. Turning it on too soon after can cause more harm. Did she turn it off immediately?

Leave it for another few days. It might come back to life.

Repair costs - I'm not sure. If it's the logic board probably something ridiculous like €700.

If she has access to a legitimate Mac Repair specialist abroad then there's no harm taking it there and having them check it out. If not then wait to come home and give Apple Customer Care or Mactivate in Dublin a bell.
