BMW 318is 1995 Ignition Tumbler - help

I have a 1995 bmw 318is coupe. The key turns 360 degrees when I try to start it and I have to jiggle it to get it to start.

I believe the tumber needs replacing. Anyone know how much this would be and where I could get it done?

    Thanks
    Chris

Hi Chris, i had a similar problem with my E36. From the day I got it, the ignition key would spin somtimes, but it always worked the second time I tried it. Have a look at this link on BMW Driver.

I sold my e36 last year but i got the barrel changed during its last service. The barrel can be awkward to get out.
