But does any one know if Ireland has any Fallout shelters. Publics ones. I know some of the government has got to have one but not sure if there are any public ones. Weird question, I know :rolleyes:

What got me thinking was i am currently in Berlin on holiday and yesterday i went on a tour of an old cold war fallout shelter. Was really interesting. Big heavy doors loads of food and only one way in and out. Sounds like a good plan to me

Just some more usless facts for you.....Berlin and the rest of germany still maintain the bunkers and test them every year. There are like 20 or so in Berlin ready for use.

Anyway.....yea i think im going to have to do a bit more research on this.

I don't know your kind of backing yourself into a corner there. With only one way in or out if zombies see you go in they could just wait outside till your food runs out constantly drawing in more zombies until it's possible to get back out.

I personally like the idea of a fallout shelter. The zombies don't nessicarily have to KNOW where it is, you could come out when it's quiet in the day armed to the teeth yet keeping it stealthy. Best option is take over an empty army base, zombies hate tanks. Also, flame throwers ftw, zombies hate fire.
In the chance your shelter is found and a zombie siege, there could be a contingency plan. Like a secret tunnel to another obscure shelter, with a car like the Bat-mobile, and then self-destruct the original shelter.

i'm putting together a cadré of semi-entusiastic and horrendously unqualified pro-zombie-survivalists whose task it will be to construct one of thes aforementioned 'nuclear zombie survival shelters'. prerequisites for membership:

• a strong back
• about 100 metric tons of concrete, in a concrete delivery truck that you can drive [license not necessary]
• a shovel
• pick-axe
• a hatred for the undead
• a wrist-attached display unit that shows your vitals and inventory

public shelters wont work as people will be bitten but wont tell anyone and then when they turn theyll be in the shelter which means everyone will be slaughtered!

as for private shelters i hav an underground shelter in my house if anyone wants to join me on Z-day!!

Switzerland has it best lads. Everyone has military training and a gun in their home. Also shelters that can hold 114% of their population

Yup i knew that. If you have a building over 600 m2 you need a shelter. If you ask me its a good idea
