Great that they've made this sizable breakthrough with the investigation.

Please bear in mind that the man being questioned is guilty of nothing until a court convicts him.

Nothing like a bit of grade to get an oul investigation moving:

Still though, hopefully the arrested 27 year-old Polish national will be able to "assist Gardai with enquiries".

I agree, people are often very quick to criticise the gardai. They've done a great job here. I'd say the reward might have helped too, but still, hopefully they've got their man.

To be fair to the Gardai in Galway, they're generally on the ball when it comes to serious investigations like this one.

He charged with murder last night and was before the Court this morning.
A 27-year-old man has appeared in Court in Galway charged with the murder of a 20-year-old supermarket worker in the city last month.

Alexander Nadwodny, with no fixed address was charged with murdering Kieran Cunningham, from Slieve Finn, Claregalway, on 3 June.

The assault took place minutes after he had left a nightclub close to Eyre Square.

At a brief court hearing, Inspector Michael Coppinger gave evidence of arresting Mr Nadwodny at Mill street Garda station last night and charging him with the murder of Mr Cunningham.
