    No. Buy a decent u-lock.

Kryptonite locks (yellow or orange barrels, the grey ones are not as tough), abus granite is also very good.

I think the wiki has a page on locks, petethedrummer had a good link too, here is BikeRadar's lock review section

Bear in mind if you have quick release wheels and a quick release saddle.....

You will want a security cable or chain for the wheels and another for the saddle unless you want some random creamer running off with your wheels and saddle for giggles.

A good u lock on it's own is not enough: you need to ensure that the saddle and wheels are secured also or are removed when leaving the bike unattended.

Make sure the u lock has you bike frame tied to something immovable.

TBH I only use a mini kryptonite ulock, with a long cable loop for both wheels and a small cable loop for the saddle, both cables I loop through the ul ock. It'd enough basic security as I only ever park the bike at work which is fairly secure and right beside a smoking shed which always has someone smoking in it....

Then again I always park and lock my bike next to a nice looking trek 6 series mtb that the owner NEVER locks and a trek 3900 with a nice paint job that is only locked with a crap cable lock.... best security measure by far .
